1st Corinthians 15:1-4
– Man is born in a state of sin that separates him from God. It is why even small children may sin.
– Jesus died and resurrected that we might live eternally.
BUT BE CAREFUL
1. Be careful about the doctrine of Moses or of works or of effort or of self-help books.
We have not received from God because of how much effort we have put in for him but because of his good pleasure.
The gospel is a response to Him not a demand put upon us.
The church of Ephesus labored for God but did not have a relationship with Him.
Our sanctification comes from believing in Him not from our works.
2. Be careful about the doctrine of Balaam or the gospel of prosperity.
The true gospel is not about wealth or lack of it. The gospel is about Christ, his death, resurrection and what it means for us.
3. Be careful to say no to the doctrine of demons or of generational curses when you’re in Christ.
A believer of Christ can never be possessed by demons.
We have been delivered from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. Let us therefore fix our eyes on Jesus – the author and finisher of our faith.
